Hutschenreuther Christmas Bell: Over 40 years of tradition

The Hutschenreuther Christmas Bell has been an integral part of many festively decorated living rooms for decades. Every year, a new collector's edition for Christmas is released, capturing the anticipation of Christmas with its detailed motifs. What began in 1978 with the first Hutschenreuther porcelain Christmas bell has become a tradition over the years. Today, the Christmas bell from Hutschenreuther is a sought-after collector's item and, at the same time, an atmospheric decoration for the Christmas season.

Hutschenreuther Christmas Bell: The history of the collector's edition

Almost 50 years ago, Hutschenreuther started its own Christmas tradition with the first Hutschenreuther porcelain Christmas bell. For over four decades, the series was decorated with detailed illustrations by Danish artist Ole Winther. With each bell, he told a little Christmas fairy tale that enchanted collectors year after year. The Christmas bell quickly became a symbol of the festive season and a sought-after collector's item.

The question ‘How long has the Hutschenreuther Christmas bell been around?’ takes us back to the year 1978. The first Christmas bell with the motif ‘Moon Run’ was released under the title ‘Weihnachten in Lapland’. Even then, it impressed with its high-quality workmanship in the finest porcelain and its lovingly designed Christmas motif. With a height of 7.5 cm and a diameter of 5.3 cm, the bell quickly became the centrepiece of the Hutschenreuther Christmas collections.

A new era of Christmas bells with Renáta Fucíková

Since 2018, Czech artist Renáta Fucíková has been shaping the series. Her nostalgic illustrations reflect the magic of winter, anticipation and Christmas traditions. With delicate brushstrokes and great attention to detail, she continues the history of the bell and gives each annual edition a distinctive character.

Quality meets tradition

The Hutschenreuther Christmas bell is a limited edition and is released each year in strictly limited quantities. Each bell is elaborately handcrafted. No motif is created on a computer; all designs are drawn by hand by artists, converted into print images and then transferred onto the fine porcelain. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern illustration makes this series unique.

With a height of 7.5 cm and a diameter of 5.3 cm, it impresses with its rich detail, artistic design and highest quality workmanship. The Christmas bell is often used as an elegant decoration – whether on the Christmas tree, in the window or as an eye-catcher on the festive table.
